During a hospital visit for prostate surgery, it was discovered that King Charles had other concerning health issues. It has now been confirmed that his royal majesty, King Charles III, has been diagnosed with cancer.
King Charles, aged 75 and the son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has indeed been diagnosed with cancer. This diagnosis follows a week after his hospitalization for prostate surgery, as well as a hospital stay for her royal majesty Catherine, the Princess of Wales, who underwent abdominal surgery. The royal palace reports that the Princess of Wales is making a great recovery.
In his battle against cancer, King Charles is not alone, as his former sister-in-law, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, has been diagnosed with skin cancer just months after her battle with breast cancer. Her spokesperson stated, “Clearly, another diagnosis so soon after treatment for breast cancer has been distressing, but the Duchess remains in good spirits.”
Meanwhile, King Charles has commenced regular treatments and will postpone public duties during this time. The palace stated, “remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.”
King Charles has informed both of his sons, Prince William and Prince Henry, about his cancer diagnosis. Prince Henry, who resides in California, has traveled back to the UK to be with his father.
Prince William was recently seen at his first public appearance since Princess Catherine’s surgery and King Charles’s cancer diagnosis. He expressed gratitude for the supportive messages regarding his family’s health issues over the past few weeks.
